The Palm Desert Entrepreneurial Resource Center (ERC) officially opened its doors on March 5, marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event featured networking opportunities, entertainment, and refreshments provided by local small businesses.

The ERC is a collaborative effort involving the City of Palm Desert, the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), the Riverside County Office of Economic Development, and CSUSB’s School of Entrepreneurship. Situated at 37023 Cook St., Ste. 102, it stands opposite the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus.

Housed in what was formerly the Palm Desert iHub location, the ERC combines various entrepreneurial support organizations to offer comprehensive training, technical assistance, and resources for small business owners and entrepreneurs in Palm Desert and surrounding areas. Additionally, it provides co-working spaces, offices, conference rooms, and meeting areas for startups, home-based businesses, remote workers, and businesses transitioning to commercial spaces in Palm Desert.

During the opening ceremony, congratulatory remarks were made by several key figures including CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales; County of Riverside Supervisor V. Manuel Perez; City of Palm Desert Mayor Pro Tem Evan Trubee; and CSUSB School of Entrepreneurship Director Mike Stull.

“We at CSUSB are always looking for ways to support and strengthen opportunities and conditions for all who live here,” said Morales. “We view the ERC as a catalyst for economic growth in the city of Palm Desert and the greater Coachella Valley region.”

Stull added that “the ERC aims to empower small businesses,” emphasizing its role in fostering innovation and driving sustainable growth across Coachella Valley. He described it as more than an initiative but “a movement to transform lives through economic empowerment.”

The Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship is part of Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration at CSUSB. Known as one of the largest university-based centers globally with over 25 years of experience providing business assistance programs within communities; it has served over 199,000 business owners with an economic impact exceeding $846 million.
