Palm Springs Aerial Tram Road Challenge returns on October 18

The 38th annual Palm Springs Aerial Tram Road Challenge is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2025. The event will start at 7:00 a.m. for runners and 6:30 a.m. for walkers. Participants will begin at the bottom of Tram Way and finish at the Tram’s Valley Station, climbing more than 1,900 feet over a distance of 3.7 miles.

All participants will receive special finishers’ medals and a commemorative T-shirt for the 2025 event. At the end of the race, there will be a festival featuring vendor booths and complimentary breakfast snacks. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age group for those registered in the Awards Eligible category.

On race day, Tram Way will be closed until about 11:00 a.m., with tram service resuming shortly after the road reopens. Spectator shuttles are scheduled from 5:30 to 6:00 a.m., departing from the Palm Springs Visitors Center, with parking available nearby.

Participants will also enjoy a finish line festival with vendor booths and complimentary breakfast snacks. Immediately following the race, awards for the top three finishers in each age group will be given out to those registered in the Awards Eligible category.”
