The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway has announced extended operating hours for July 4, in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. On that day, the first tramcar will depart at 8:00 a.m., with the last one going up at 9:00 p.m. The final tramcar will return at 10:30 p.m.

Visitors can also join Mount San Jacinto State Park rangers for guided nature walks on Sunday, July 6. These walks include a 1½-mile trek along the Desert View Trail at 11:00 a.m. and a shorter ¾-mile loop on the Long Valley Nature Trail at 1:30 p.m. Interested participants should meet outside the Mountain Station after taking the tram to the top. The guided nature walks are free with general tram admission.

“Beat the heat and celebrate the Fourth of July Holiday Weekend in the cool mountain air at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway!” reads an invitation from event organizers.
