Palm Springs Aerial Tramway remains closed pending arrival of key replacement part

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will continue to be closed for an indefinite period, according to a statement released on August 11, 2025.

Tramway Systems Vice President Chris Bartsch said, “The replacement part has been located, but a shipment date has not yet been provided. The part is a motor contactor that supplies power from the Tram drive to the Tram motor.”

There is currently no confirmed reopening date for the tramway. Officials stated that further updates will be shared as more information becomes available.

The organization apologized for any inconvenience caused by the ongoing closure.
