The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is set to reopen on Monday, October 13, 2025, after completing its annual preventative maintenance. The tram will resume operations with the first car departing at 10:00 a.m., the last trip up at 8:00 p.m., and the final descent at 9:30 p.m. Tram cars are scheduled to depart every 30 minutes or more frequently as needed.

During the closure in 2025, several key maintenance projects were finished. These included rebuilding the carriage on cabin one, replacing the counter haul rope, and performing required state-permit testing along with servicing the control system.

General Manager Nancy Nichols stated, “Our annual preventative maintenance closure allows our team the opportunity to improve the Tramway and its facilities, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all our visitors through the year. We appreciate our guests’ patience as our Tramway systems and maintenance departments worked to complete all necessary projects. We look forward to welcoming back our visitors to the Tramway.”

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway has operated since 1963 and is recognized as the world’s largest rotating tram car. It transports up to 80 passengers from Valley Station at an elevation of 2,643 feet to Mountain Station at 8,516 feet in about ten minutes. More information can be found by calling 888-515-TRAM or visiting www.pstramway.com.
