Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce hosts a free concert series that pays tribute to iconic musicians

The Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce announced a free tribute band concert series, organized in collaboration with James Elliott Entertainment. A concert will be held at 7 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month from December 2023 through May 2024 at the Palm Springs Downtown Park, with the first scheduled for Dec. 6.

This musical event aims to celebrate iconic musicians and bands while providing an entertaining environment for residents and visitors in Palm Springs.

The press release from the City of Palm Springs provides more details about the upcoming concerts.
According to a City of Palm Springs press release, the concerts will feature performers that look and sound similar to iconic musicians and bands. The series lineup is as follows: Dec. 6, Kenny Cetera’s Chicago Experience, a tribute to Chicago; Jan. 3, Tina Turner by Debby Holiday; Feb. 7, a tribute to Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley; March 6, ABBAFab; April 3, The Garth Guy; and May 1, Wanted, a tribute to Bon Jovi.

Additionally, some background information on the venue is essential for those unfamiliar with the area.
According to the City of Palm Springs website, the Downtown Park, which opened Oct. 21, 2021, is located across the street from the Palm Springs Art Museum.

Moreover,the contribution of various sponsors in supporting this event is noteworthy.
According to the city’s press release,,the concert series is sponsored by the City of Palm Springs, PS Resorts, the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians,Eisenhower Health,
Desert Care Network,Grit Development, Miralon, Palm Springs Animal Shelter, Palm Springs American Legion Post 519, HM Hospitality Consultants and VRON. 

Finally, the primary objective of hosting this series was elaborated by the Chamber of Commerce CEO.
“Our city now has the perfect outdoor venue in which to host a concert series like this. Our goal is to bring visitors and residents from throughout the Coachella Valley to downtown Palm Springs during the middle of the week so as to provide a boost to our local bars, restaurants, and retail businesses. We also believe these special events will increase hotel room nights thanks to those attending weekend conventions and events extending their stays,” said Chamber of Commerce CEO Nona Watson.
