The Palm Springs Cultural Center announced on April 16 that it will host a healing-focused event for Mental Health Awareness Month on May 2, 2026. The gathering, organized by Convergence Healing, is scheduled from noon to 7 p.m. and aims to provide the community with practical tools and conversations centered on holistic wellbeing.
The event will begin with a meet-and-greet and lunch sourced from a local farmers market. Throughout the day, attendees can participate in discussions, demonstrations, and interactive experiences led by local practitioners, spiritual leaders, and wellness professionals.
Peter Bedard, wellness expert and founder of Convergence Healing, will deliver the keynote presentation titled “The Importance of Healing Physically, Mentally and Spiritually.” Following this address, four themed sessions will take place: physical healing moderated by Thalia Hayden with panelists Eva Alvarez, Wendy Ansley, and Aida Johnson-Rapp; mindfulness and mental health moderated by Corey Roskin with Dr. Karyl Ketchum, Dr. Douglas Sadownick, and Hail Wiggins; spiritual practice moderated by Councilmember Grace Garner featuring Perry Lang, Rabbi Adina Allen, and Shelley Karpaty; and end-of-life experiences moderated by Craig Liebelt with Glendon M. Geikie, Kara Hoppe, and Ron Smith.
Each session includes practical demonstrations such as yoga techniques led by Ansley alongside College of the Desert students or Laughter Yoga guided by Adry Rubio. Attendees will also have opportunities to create personal mantras or chants during the spiritual session.
The event concludes with a sound bath experience from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., led by sound healer Katt Adkins. Organizers are offering sliding-scale ticket options so attendees can choose a price that fits their budget.
More information about tickets is available through the Palm Springs Cultural Center’s Eventbrite page at the organization’s website.
