Personnel Change Announcement

Lt. William Hutchinson and Lt. Gustavo Araiza will be trading places. 

Lt. Hutchinson  who has served in the Administration Division of PSPD overseeing our Dispatch Center, Media Relations/Social Media Unit and our Training Unit has rotated into our Operations Division while Lt. Gustavo Araiza who has been assigned to patrol operations and community relations is rotating into Administrative Services.  

Lt. Hutchinson will oversee our newly formed Central Area Command focused on Downtown issues, homelessness and crime issues impacting those who reside in the Central Area corridor. 

Lt. Gustavo Araiza is switching places with Lt. Hutchinson and will oversee our Dispatch 911 Center, Personnel and Training and Media Relations units. 

These rotations are part of PSPD’s succession planning as both managers are expected to experience a variety of assignments throughout their career. 

PSPD wishes both Lieutenants well in their new assignments and we look forward to introducing these managers to the various stakeholders in their areas.
