Palm Springs to host Coachella Valley Local Government Vendor Fair on April 15

The City of Palm Springs announced on April 1 that it will host the third annual Coachella Valley Local Government Vendor Fair on April 15 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The event is free and aims to connect local business owners with government agencies from across the region.

The vendor fair is intended to help businesses learn about opportunities for working with municipalities in the Coachella Valley, as well as provide direct access to officials who oversee contracting and procurement. The event is open to companies offering services such as general contracting, landscaping, engineering, electrical work, janitorial services, web development, and more.

More than a dozen cities and agencies are scheduled to participate, including Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta, Indio, Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG), County of Riverside, IREN (Inland Regional Energy Network), Mission Springs Water District (MSWD), and Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD).

“Local businesses are the backbone of the Coachella Valley, and they deserve a clear path to compete for government contracts,” said Mayor Naomi Soto of Palm Springs. “This Vendor Fair connects our business community directly with public agencies, creating opportunities that strengthen local businesses and keep taxpayer dollars working in our region.”

The Greater Coachella Valley Chamber contributes to economic vitality by promoting tourism and hosting events that connect community members according to its official website. The chamber also advocates for businesses by providing networking opportunities and educational resources as noted online. Its reach extends across several cities in the valley including Cathedral City, Indio, La Quinta, Palm Desert, Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage according to its website.
