We are happy to share that Arya’s wounds are healing so well that her bandages have been removed.

Over the past two weeks, she has been getting consistently stronger and has developed an appetite appropriate for her size and species.

Black-footed cats have a high metabolic rate, consuming up to 1/3 of their body weight every night!

Our veterinary team has determined that Arya is almost ready to start the process of weaning off her formula and they will begin that process soon.

She has also nearly doubled in size from the day of her surgery; now clocking in around 13 oz– which is roughly 1/3 the weight of an adult female black-footed cat.

Finally, following in the footsteps of her species, and her feisty namesake, Arya is becoming a little warrior. She is developing the characteristics and natural behaviors of black-footed cats, including climbing, burrowing, stalking, and pouncing. Make sure to watch to the end of the video to see her incredible progress!
