Pedestrian killed in early morning crash in Jurupa Valley

Deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian early Monday morning, August 18, 2025. The incident occurred at approximately 4:46 a.m. near Rutile Street and 50th Street in Jurupa Valley.

Upon arrival, deputies found the pedestrian lying on Rutile Street, south of 50th Street. The individual showed clear signs of death and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities have not released the identity of the pedestrian, pending notification of next of kin.

The driver involved in the collision was not injured and remained at the location to cooperate with investigators.

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team took over the investigation. At this time, it is unclear if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause remains under investigation.

Rutile Street between Jurupa Road and 50th Street was temporarily closed while officials processed the scene and gathered evidence.
