Desert Recreation District will host a Prom Dress Giveaway on March 21 and 22 at the Thousand Palms Community Center. The event is open to all high school juniors and seniors in the Coachella Valley, offering free prom dresses in various sizes, colors, and styles.

Students are encouraged to make appointments for a more personalized experience by emailing [email protected] or texting (760) 701-1043. The initiative is organized in partnership with Desert Best Friend’s Closet.

“Our goal is simple, we want every student to feel confident, celebrated, and excited for prom,” said Dr. Gabriel Martin, General Manager of Desert Recreation District. “Prom is a milestone moment, and sometimes a dress can make all the difference in how a young person carries themselves into that night. We are proud to open our doors, share in the excitement, and remind our students that this community is cheering them on every step of the way.”

The Thousand Palms Community Center is located at 31 189 Robert Road in Thousand Palms. More information about this event and others can be found at MyRecreationDistrict.com/community-events.

Desert Recreation District serves over 432,000 residents across the greater Coachella Valley and manages more than 49 parks and recreation facilities. Its mission includes ensuring access to quality recreation services regardless of economic status.
