The City of Palm Springs would like to remind our residents they are invited to provide public input regarding a new Homeless Navigation Center to be located at 3589 McCarthy Road during the second in a series of special ongoing community meetings.

The next meeting will take place from 6 pm – 7:30 pm on Tuesday, March 15 in the gymnasium at the James O. Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center, 480 W. Tramview Road.

An individual public comment period will be provided as well as an opportunity for residents to express interest in joining a new Resident Advisory Working Group being formed to help develop recommendations.

“We recognize that our initial meeting in the Desert Highland neighborhood did not adequately address the desires of some in the community to individually express their comments in a setting where everyone could listen,” said City Manager Justin Clifton.

“With that in mind, the City will provide time during our next meeting where everyone can provide public input to City and County staff about the kind of project they would like to see and any concerns they may have,” said Clifton.

The Homeless Navigation Center is being developed in partnership with the City of Palm Springs and the County of Riverside and is currently in the planning stages. Martha’s Village and Kitchen, one of Riverside County’s most respected homeless providers, will operate the facility.
