On June 5, 2025, deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team and Burglary Robbery Suppression Team conducted a retail theft operation in collaboration with Loss Prevention personnel. The operation took place in the 1800 block of Perris Boulevard in the city of Perris. It aimed to address retail theft proactively and ensure safety for businesses and shoppers.

Several individuals were observed stealing merchandise during the operation. Each suspect was apprehended and arrested without incident.

The Riverside Sheriff’s Office, along with the city of Perris, emphasized their commitment to tackling theft-related crimes affecting local businesses and communities. These operations are supported by legislative efforts such as Proposition 36, underscoring that individuals committing retail theft face arrest and prosecution.

Such operations play a crucial role in addressing repeat offenders and deterring organized retail crime while promoting accountability and rehabilitation within existing legal frameworks. The Perris Special Enforcement Team remains dedicated to ensuring a safe shopping environment for residents and visitors in the city.
