Revolution Stage Company is set to commence its 2024-2025 season with the Broadway musical I Do! I Do!, scheduled for seven performances from October 16 to October 27. The production explores forty years of love and marriage, offering a reflective journey through the life of one couple.
Written by Tom Jones (book and lyrics) and Harvey Schmidt (music), the creators of The Fantasticks, I Do! I Do! is based on Jan de Hartog’s play The Fourposter. The story follows Michael and Agnes from their wedding day through various stages of their marriage, highlighting both joyful and challenging moments.
The show features a score that includes “My Cup Runneth Over,” capturing the universal experiences of commitment and perseverance in long-term relationships. Revolution Stage Company aims to bring this classic piece to the Palm Springs community.
Francesca Amari will debut as ‘Agnes,’ while Gary Powers, co-founder of RSC, will play ‘Michael.’ The production is directed by Roger Welch, who was previously Producing Artistic Director at Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre in Idaho for twenty years.
