On November 23, 2025, deputies from the Southwest Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a missing 15-year-old girl in the unincorporated area of Temecula, Riverside County. The Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (RCAHT) took over the investigation.

The juvenile was found safely on November 26 in Long Beach. Authorities determined that she had been sexually assaulted and was a victim of child sex trafficking. Nestor Alexis Aguirre-Chavez, age 20 and a resident of Wilmington, California, was identified as the suspect. The victim received medical care at a local hospital with support from a victim advocate.

On December 5, members of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit, K-9 Unit, and RCAHT arrested Aguirre-Chavez at his residence on Robidoux Street in Wilmington without incident. A search warrant was executed at his home. He was transported to Riverside County and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on charges including commercial sex trafficking of a minor under duress, pimping and pandering of a minor under age 16, transporting a minor for lewd acts, and arranging to meet a minor for lewd acts. Bail is set at $1 million.

Authorities urge anyone with information or who may have been affected by this case to contact Investigator Joe Riddle at (951) 955–1700 or RCAHT at ht@riversidesheriff.org. The public can also visit the Anti-Human-Trafficking-Task-Force website for help.

Law enforcement warns that traffickers often use social media platforms popular among children and young adults to exploit vulnerabilities through grooming and manipulation. Parents are advised to monitor their children’s online activity closely.

“The law enforcement component of RCAHT currently includes the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, the Riverside County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation, and the Department of Social Services, and maintains a zero-tolerance policy for human trafficking offenses.”
