Riverside County Coroner identifies woman killed in Thermal traffic incident

The Riverside Sheriff’s Office announced on Mar. 14 that Daysi Olivas, a 25-year-old resident of Thermal, died following a traffic incident. The coroner’s report states that Olivas was injured on Mar. 13 at approximately 1:17 p.m. on the southbound roadway of Filmore Street, about 150 feet north of Avenue 58 in Thermal.

Olivas was transported to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital located at 47111 Monroe Street in Indio, where she was pronounced dead at 3:11 p.m. the same day. The California Highway Patrol – Indio is handling the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to the coroner’s office, next of kin have been notified. The case has been assigned investigation number 9630-2026-00384 by authorities.

Officials have directed all further inquiries regarding this case to the investigating agency.
