Riverside County Coroner identifies woman killed on SR 371 near Anza

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office identified Skylar Berry, a 27-year-old woman from Palm Desert, as the person who died on March 11 following an incident on State Route 371 near Anza.

The case is significant for local residents and travelers along SR 371, as it highlights ongoing safety concerns in the area. The coroner’s report provides details about the circumstances surrounding Berry’s death.

According to the press release, Berry was injured at approximately 7:05 a.m. on March 11 at a location about 1.2 miles south of Cary Road in Anza. She was pronounced dead at the scene at around 7:20 a.m. The California Highway Patrol Temecula Office is handling the investigation under case number #260311BC0157.

Authorities confirmed that Berry’s next of kin have been notified. The coroner’s office directed all further inquiries to the investigating agency.

This incident underscores the importance of road safety and awareness for both drivers and pedestrians in rural areas such as Anza. As investigations continue, officials may provide additional information regarding the circumstances of this fatality.
