The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office has announced a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) saturation enforcement operation scheduled for August 1, 2025. The operation will take place in Eastvale from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., with deputies looking for drivers suspected of impaired driving.

“Impaired driving is preventable,” Deputy Buenrostro said. “It’s a choice. If you’ve been drinking or taken drugs that impair, make the right choice by finding a sober driver or alternate transportation to take you places.”

Authorities are reminding the public that impairment can result not only from alcohol but also from some prescription and over-the-counter medications. Residents are urged to follow directions for use and read warning labels regarding driving. Although marijuana is legal for medicinal and recreational use in California, it remains illegal to drive under its influence.

Drivers found guilty of their first DUI offense could face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, along with license suspension.

Funding for this enforcement program comes from a grant provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

For further information about this incident, media representatives are directed to contact the Media Information Bureau. Those interested in careers with the department can visit joinrso.org or call 1-888-Join-RSD.
