Riverside County Sheriff investigates fatal shooting in Moreno Valley

Deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at approximately 9:37 p.m. The incident occurred in the 13000 block of Heacock Street in Moreno Valley. Upon arrival, deputies found a 57-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics attempted to provide lifesaving aid, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. Authorities have not made any arrests and are working to identify those responsible for the shooting. The identity of the victim is being withheld until his next of kin can be notified.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office released a statement: “The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Central Homicide Unit Investigator Jimenez at (951) 955-2777 or Moreno Valley Station Investigator Martinez at (951) 486-6700.”
