Law enforcement agencies from Riverside County and six other California counties will participate in the annual “Operation Holiday Cheer” event on December 17 and 18, 2025. The initiative aims to recognize healthcare workers for their efforts during the holiday season.

The event, now in its fifth year, has expanded to include nearly 60 police and fire departments from Sacramento, San Benito, San Bernardino, Riverside, Ventura, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Barbara counties. Over two days, participants will visit more than 40 hospitals across an area covering over 28,000 miles.

According to organizers, law enforcement and fire personnel will form motorcades outside local hospitals. The processions will feature patrol cars with lights and sirens as well as appearances by Santa Claus and other holiday characters. The aim is to honor medical staff for their sacrifices during the holidays.

A statement from the press release reads: “Law enforcement agencies from across Riverside County will take part in the annual ‘Operation Holiday Cheer’ – a festive event honoring the hard work and sacrifice of healthcare professionals during the holiday season.”

The events are scheduled to run each day from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with several key locations in Riverside County hosting significant activities.
