The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Jurupa Valley Station, Norco Sub-Station, has announced that it will conduct a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) checkpoint in the City of Norco on December 19, 2025. The checkpoint will take place from 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM at an undisclosed location.
Checkpoint locations are selected based on data indicating where impaired driving-related crashes have occurred. The main goal of these checkpoints is to improve public safety by removing suspected impaired drivers from the road.
“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” Deputy Armenta said. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improves traffic safety.”
The sheriff’s office also reminded the public that impairment can result not only from alcohol but also from certain prescription and over-the-counter medications. Although marijuana use is legal for medicinal and recreational purposes in California, driving under its influence remains illegal.
A first-time DUI charge can result in fines and penalties averaging $13,500, along with a suspended driver’s license.
This program is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
