The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, San Jacinto Station, has announced that it will conduct DUI saturation patrols on Friday, September 5, 2025. The patrols will run from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM and focus on identifying drivers suspected of driving under the influence.

Sergeant Patrick Lynch stated, “Impaired driving is preventable. It’s a choice. If you’ve been drinking or taken drugs that impair, make the right choice by finding a sober driver or alternate transportation to take you places.”

The Sheriff’s Office is reminding the public that impairment can result not only from alcohol but also from some prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs. Drivers are advised to read warning labels and follow usage directions carefully. Additionally, while marijuana use is legal for both medicinal and recreational purposes in California, driving under its influence remains illegal.

Individuals charged with a first-time DUI may face average fines and penalties totaling $13,500 and risk having their license suspended.

This enforcement effort is supported by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through funding provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

For further information regarding this incident, media representatives are directed to contact the Media Information Bureau.
