The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) is investigating the cause of Monday morning’s fatal collision on Pigeon Pass Road and has not yet identified those involved.

“At this time, the cause of the collision remains under investigation and the identity of the involved parties will not be released pending next-of-kin notification,” Deputy Sgt. Robert Grmusha of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release

At approximately 12:40 a.m. on Monday, Riverside County deputies from the Moreno Valley Station responded to a report of a traffic collision on Pigeon Pass Road, south of Hemlock Avenue. Upon arrival, the deputies found an unknown male lying on the ground who was unresponsive and without a pulse, Grmusha said.

“The subject was declared deceased at the scene, with obvious traumatic injuries consistent with a traffic collision,” the press release said.

The ongoing investigation is in the hands of the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team. As investigators processed the scene and collected evidence, they temporarily closed Pigeon Pass Road, between Hemlock Avenue and Sunnymead Boulevard, the press release noted.

The department encourages anyone with information about the fatal traffic incident to call Deputy Kevin Seguin of the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station at 951-486-6879 or the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department at 951-776-1099.
