Riverside County is set to update the public on its initiative aimed at improving infrastructure in eastern Coachella Valley communities. This update comes a year after launching efforts to secure funding for these improvements.

The Public Financing Authority for the Eastern Coachella Valley Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District (EIFD) will convene on Tuesday, December 10, following the Board of Supervisors meeting at 2 p.m. or shortly thereafter.

Supervisor V. Manuel Perez, along with two other Riverside County Supervisors and two public members, are part of the Public Financing Authority working to gather funds for east valley infrastructure projects.

“The EIFD is a new tool that we can match with our other tools to address infrastructure challenges in the eastern Coachella Valley,” stated Supervisor Perez. He emphasized that “this initiative is an active process” and “will take at least several more years to build up enough funding for projects that people want to have in their communities.” He added that it represents a step towards advancing necessary infrastructure investment long needed in the region.

Next Tuesday’s meeting offers various participation options:
– Attend in person at the Riverside County Board of Supervisors Chambers located at 4080 Lemon Street, Riverside.
– Visit a local satellite location at the Mecca Library at 91-260 Avenue 66, Mecca.
