Riverside man dies in roadway incident on Washington Street

Frederick Schiller III, a 30-year-old resident of Riverside, died on March 26 following an incident on Washington Street in Riverside, according to a March 27 release from the Riverside Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau.

The coroner’s report said that Schiller sustained injuries at approximately 8:43 p.m. near the intersection of Washington Street and Harley John Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene about twenty minutes later, at 9:02 p.m. The location of death was listed as roughly 140 feet south of Harley John Road.

The California Highway Patrol – Riverside is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident under investigation number 9840-2026-01705. Next of kin have been notified.

Authorities have not released further details regarding how the injury occurred or any other parties involved. The coroner’s office directed inquiries to the investigating agency for additional information.

This case marks another fatality investigated by local law enforcement along this stretch of roadway.
