The Riverside Sheriff’s Office in Perris has announced plans to conduct a DUI saturation patrol on July 25, 2025, from 6 p.m. to midnight. The operation aims to identify and stop drivers suspected of being under the influence.

“Impaired driving is preventable,” Sergeant Jeremy Bracey said. “It’s a choice. If you’ve been drinking or taken drugs that impair, make the right choice by finding a sober driver or alternate transportation to take you places.”

Authorities are reminding residents that impairment can result not only from alcohol but also from certain prescription and over-the-counter medications. Officials advise following usage directions and reading warning labels before driving. Although marijuana is legal for medicinal and recreational use in California, driving under its influence remains against the law.

First-time offenders charged with DUI may face average costs of $13,500 in fines and penalties along with license suspension.

Funding for this enforcement program comes from a grant provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
