On August 9, 2025, deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station responded to a robbery at a jewelry store on Highway 111 in Palm Desert. According to reports, four masked individuals entered the store with hammers, broke display cases, and stole merchandise valued at over $87,000 before fleeing.

The Robbery and Burglary Suppression Team from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station led the investigation. Authorities determined that this incident was part of a series of twelve similar “smash-and-grab” robberies targeting the same jewelry store chain across Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside counties since May 2025. Wilson and Tanner were also identified as suspects in several commercial burglaries in Los Angeles County.

Law enforcement agencies coordinated multiple operations leading to arrests. On September 11, Khalil Tanner and J’Quan Brasher were arrested in Lancaster with assistance from several local and state law enforcement teams. On September 16, Keyon Hampton was taken into custody in Lancaster during another joint operation. Jamail Wilson was arrested on September 18 in Los Angeles following an operation involving the Los Angeles County Major Crimes Bureau and Organized Retail Crime Task Force. George Diamond was apprehended on September 23 in Lancaster through a combined effort by multiple agencies.

During the investigation, authorities learned that Ryan Hawes had already been taken into federal custody for an unrelated matter. All suspects have been booked into the John Benoit Detention Center facing charges including robbery, felony vandalism, grand theft, burglary, committing theft with prior convictions, and conspiracy.

“This is an ongoing investigation, and no additional details will be released at this time,” according to officials. “Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Deputy Sanchez of the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station by calling (760) 836–1600.”
