Colin Zulianello has been promoted to the Seattle Kraken’s coaching staff as the new Goaltending Coach. Previously, Zulianello was part of the Coachella Valley Firebirds’ coaching team since their inaugural season in 2022. The announcement also included the addition of new assistant coaches Aaron Schneekloth and Chris Taylor.

“I’m excited to have Aaron, Chris and Colin join our coaching staff,” said Seattle Kraken Head Coach Lane Lambert via the team’s press release. “Each of them brings a wealth of experience and a unique voice to the locker room, and Colin’s familiarity with the goalies in our system will be a huge benefit heading into the upcoming season.”

Zulianello, aged 46, has spent three seasons as the goaltending coach for Seattle’s AHL affiliate, working closely with players like Joey Daccord and Nikke Kokko. Kokko ended the 2024-25 season leading among AHL rookie netminders in wins, goals-against average, and save percentage. Before his tenure at Coachella Valley, Zulianello served as goaltending coach for Stockton Heat from 2016 to 2019.

“We are very proud of Colin for his work and contributions to the organization,” said Troy Bodie, Vice President of Hockey Operations for the Firebirds. “Colin has devoted a tremendous amount of time and effort to his craft, and the results are evident in the success of our goaltenders both on and off the ice. We wish him all the best in his new role with the big club.”

Zulianello’s playing career includes 122 regular-season appearances in the ECHL from 2001-05 across several teams, four games in the AHL with Springfield between 2001-03, and four years at Colorado College from 1997-2001. He holds a master’s degree in education from Lakehead University.

Season ticket memberships for Firebirds’ next season are now available along with premium seating options at Acrisure Arena. Group discounts are also offered for groups of ten or more.
