Shooting suspect arrested in Lake Elsinore incident

On January 3, 2025, deputies responded to a residence on Saddle Ridge Drive in Lake Elsinore after receiving reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, they found evidence of a shooting but confirmed that no one inside the home was hit by gunfire.

Video surveillance reviewed by deputies showed an unidentified male firing a gun at the residence. The Region 4 Gang Task Force took over the investigation and, with help from the Lake Elsinore Station’s Special Enforcement Team, identified the suspect as Jalen Craig, a 19-year-old from Corona.

On July 18, 2025, Jalen Craig was arrested without incident and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for shooting at an inhabited dwelling.
