Fire crews extinguish two fires involving mobile homes in Thousand Palms

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department firefighters extinguished two mobile home fires that started within a quarter mile of each other Wednesday in Thousand Palms. The second fire started approximately 25 minutes after the first was extinguished. No one was injured.

According to City News Service (CNS) report on Patch Palm Springs, fire crews responded to the first incident at around 1:30 a.m., finding two double-width mobile homes ablaze on the 73200 block of Broadmoor Drive.

Imperial Irrigation District responded to the scene and turned off power and gas at the homes to make it safer to battle the fire, CNS reported.

Shortly after the first fire was extinguished, another was reported on the 32600 block of Southern Hills Avenue, CNS reports. The second fire was extinguished within 19 minutes. 

According to the fire department in the CNS report, the two fires are unrelated and under investigation.
