The Riverside County Sheriff's Department will host a hiring event Aug. 6 to speed up the process for those interested in starting a career with the department as a correctional deputy.

The Correctional Deputy Expedited Hiring Event is expected to run Aug. 6 from 7 a.m. 12 p.m. at the Ben Clark Training Center at 16791 Davis Ave., Riverside, according to a July 28 press release. The event is open to anyone interested in beginning a career as a correctional deputy.

"For those ready to begin a career with our department, written examinations and physical agility testing for correctional deputy will be administered during the event,” Deputy Sgt. Jessica Hall, stated in the release.

Applicants who pass both tests can begin the background process in one day, according to the release.

Prospective candidates will have the opportunity to gather information from department employees who will be on hand for the hiring event, Hall stated.

Candidates can register for the event at the Government Jobs website. Candidates can also review a video entitled "Do You Have What It Takes?” that details correctional deputy requirements on the Riverside Sheriff’s website.

While registration is preferred, walk-ins are welcome at the hiring event and will receive help on a first come, first-serve basis, Hall stated.

More information on recruiting events can be found on the department's Instagram and Facebook.
