Renova Energy Corp. had earned the No. 5 rank for rooftop installers in California and the No. 22 rank in the U.S. on the 2022 top solar contractors list by industry magazine Solar Power World.

“This award is something we take very seriously,” Renova Energy CEO and founder Vincent Battaglia said in July 26 company news release. “We currently operate in the Coachella Valley and surrounding areas in Southern California, with plans to expand in the next few years, but to reach a level and honor this high is incredible and Renova is only getting stronger. Solar plus battery storage is not just well-suited for hot desert climates, it’s become a necessity.”

The annual top solar contractors list recognizes solar companies across commercial, residential and utility markets with rankings based on the previous years’ installation numbers.

“Over 85% of the companies on the 2022 top solar contractors list primarily work in the residential and commercial sectors, and they all reported closing out the last year in a positive light,” Solar Power World Editor in Chief Kelly Pickerel said in the release.

Renova Energy is Coachella Valley’s leading solar installation company and specializes in installing solar systems and batteries that withstand harsh desert conditions and produce maximum savings. More than 300 Renova employees helped install 11,502 kilowatts of solar power in 2021. Renova Energy has installed 70 megawatts of rooftop solar for both residential and commercial buildings since its start in 2006.

Recent data released by energy research firm Wood Mackenzie found that the U.S. is expected to install 11 gigawatts, less than originally predicted in 2022, due to supply chain limits, price increases and interconnection challenges. However, a survey of the 2022 top solar contractors class found that 59% predicted their business would increase in the next year, with 9% assuming business would decrease.
