A two-car collision in Indio early Monday morning injured three people, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department said on Twitter.
As a result of the crash at Fred Waring Drive and Burr Street, two people suffered major injuries and were transported via ambulance to area hospitals, the tweet said. A third person who sustained moderate injuries was rushed to a hospital by air transport.
The accident occurred at 7:12 a.m., according to the tweet. At least one person required extrication from a vehicle after being trapped inside during impact. No further details are available regarding the extrication and how it was accomplished.
Police spokesman Ben Guitron told KESQ that two adults and one child were injured in the crash.
