CVWD recognized for excellence in financial reporting

Coachella Valley Water District's (CVWD) Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021 has received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).

According to the GFOA, “the Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.” To receive this award, CVWD prepared an Annual Comprehensive Financial Report that demonstrated “a constructive ‘spirit of full disclosure’ to clearly communicate its financial story.”

CVWD has received GFOA awards for the past nine years beginning fiscal year ending June 30, 2012.

The report is available for review at CVWD's website, www.cvwd.org/FinanceInfo. Printed copies are also available for review at the district's Steve Robbins Administration Building in Palm Desert.

The GFOA uses an independent panel to examine the financial documents of award candidates. Members include those who prepare financial statements, independent auditors, academics and other finance professionals

The GFOA, founded in 1906, is a nonprofit professional association with more than 20,000 federal, state, and local government finance professionals as members throughout North America, including representatives from CVWD. GFOA’s mission is to advance excellence in public finance.
