The Press-Enterprise and The San Bernardino Sun both provided editorial endorsements for Greg Wallis, running for California's 47th Assembly District.

Wallis, a Republican, has accumulated more than 20 endorsements, according to his campaign website.

The Press-Enterprise endorsed Wallis at the end of September. In the endorsement, the paper noted that Wallis favors reform of the California Environmental Quality Act, which would help prevent abuses of environmental law. It was also mentioned that Wallis favors more focus on using rehabilitation as a way to reduce crime within the district.

According to Wallis' campaign website, he is a third generation Californian who decided to get involved with politics to help his district and give back to the community. Throughout his career as chief district adviser, Wallis has been involved with crafting public policy.

The new 47th Assembly District is made up of two counties, Riverside and San Bernardino. Riverside makes up 76% of the voters in the district compared to the 24% that are in San Bernardino. The largest cities in the district are Yucaipa and Palm Desert.

Wallis is running against Democratic candidate Christy Holstege in the 47th District race. She was elected to serve on Palm Springs City Council in 2017 and won the city's mayoral election in 2020.
