The Palm Springs Air Museum will celebrate its 26th anniversary this Saturday with a day of activities including flight exhibitions, musical performances, birthday cake, re-enactors and fun for the kids.

"Join us on Saturday, November 12, all day long to celebrate our 26th anniversary and F-117 Nighthawk unveiling!" museum officials said on Facebook

A highlight of the day will be the 1 p.m. unveiling of a newly restored F-117 Nighthawk and a "special tribute to all who built, maintained and flew this incredible machine."

On hand for this occasion will be special guest of honor Major General Greg "Beast" Feest—the first pilot to fly combat missions in the F-117 during Operations Desert Storm and Panama, the museum said.

According to the museum, the F-117 will bear the retired major general's name and display the colors of the U.S. Air Force 415th Tactical Fighter Squadron, which was based at the Top-Secret Tonopah Test Range in Nevada.

Museum Vice Chairman Fred Bell will speak briefly about how this aircraft has contributed to education in the fields of science and technology.
