Grammy Award-wining pop star Lizzo will be performing at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert this June. Tickets will be on sale Friday on Ticketmaster, the arena announced on Twitter.
The Twitter announcement embraced her upcoming show as yet another celebratory stroke for the arena's augural year.
"[100] Percent that Lizzo is bringing #TheSpecial2our 2023 on Friday, June 2! Our Grand Opening Celebration at #AcrisureArena just keeps getting bigger and bigger!," the arena tweeted.
Lizzo is set to rock the new venue on June 2 as part of her "The Special 2our." The pop star will appear with special guest hip-hop artist and rapper Latto as part of the 8 p.m. show.
According to Palm Desert Patch, this will be the second leg of Lizzo's tour, which will begin in April 2023 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She recently won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Competition Program and a Video Music Award's Video for Good Award for her hit "About Damn Time." Her most recent album "Special," the one she will be promoting while on tour, reached No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart.
Desert Sun reports that Lizzo was recently in the Valley, appearing as a surprise guest for Harry Styles' headlining set during the second weekend of the 2022 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The two sang Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" as well as the One Direction hit "What Makes You Beautiful."
