As if a tournament that brings together top golfers isn't enough of a draw, Gwen Stefani and Darius Rucker will be this year's headlining acts at the American Express Golf Tournament at La Quinta Country Club and PGA West.
Stefani is scheduled to perform Friday, Jan. 20, followed by Rucker, who is taking the stage Saturday, Jan. 21, according to information from the City of La Quinta. Additionally, top golfers Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele, Tony Finau, Sungjae Im and Brendan Steele have entered to compete for the grand prize, an $8 million purse, the city said.
Tickets are now on sale for the tournament with a variety of options available. For instance, daily passes start at $50 and weekly passes at $179. According to the city, on Friday and Saturday, ticketholders can "rock out to the concert" starting at approximately 5 p.m. at the PGA West Pete Dye Stadium Course Driving Range. The concerts follow the golf action on those days. Tickets can be purchased on the official tournament website: theamexgolf.com.
The fun can be guilt-free because, according to the City of La Quinta, those who purchase tournament tickets will be helping local charities. Last year, a total of 37 Coachella Valley charities benefited from the Impact Through Golf Foundation, which raised $1 million during the 2022 American Express Tournament.
Charities such as the Alzheimer's Association of Coachella Valley, Habitat for Humanity of Coachella Valley, the Boys & Girls Club of Coachella Valley, Safe School Desert Cities, Desert Cancer Foundation and many more got a boost from the money raised last year.
Just as last year, this year's tournament will be played at La Quinta County Club and PGA West. The entire tournament runs from Jan. 16-22.
