Interior Designer Christopher Kennedy is set to host a Mid-Century Home Tour, with all proceeds benefiting the Palm Springs Animal Shelter.
Scheduled to take place on Feb. 18 and 19, the event will showcase private homes owned by Kennedy's clients in Indian Canyons and Vista Las Palmas. Additionally, Kennedy will be hosting a VIP cocktail party at his Indian Canyons home. Tickets to the tours start at $185.
"January is flying by, and our Mid-Century Home Tours are just over a month away! I am getting so excited to open the doors to eight incredible Palm Springs properties of our firm's design," Kennedy posted on Facebook Jan. 17.
Most of these homes have never been open to the public before and most likely will not be again, according to Kennedy. Additionally, he will showcase his own home, which he purchased in the summer of 2020 with his husband and business partner, David Clark. The couple has been remodeling the home for approximately two years.
It is no surprise that all proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. The couple has a rescue dog, Harley, whom Kennedy describes as the "light of our lives."
In the Facebook post, Kennedy said, "Our new house would not be a home without him. We support many wonderful charities in the Coachella Valley, but when it came to choosing a partner for our modernism tours, the Palm Springs Animal Shelter was the perfect fit."
The shelter's director of development, Bart Verry, shares Kennedy's enthusiasm for this special fundraiser.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Christopher to help raise funds for the thousands of animals we serve every year,” Verry said, according to the Facebook post. “Proceeds will help us care for and find forever homes for every cat, dog, rabbit, guinea pig and all other animals who come through our doors. We so appreciate Christopher’s continued commitment to animal welfare in the Coachella Valley.”
Saturday’s tours feature four homes in Indian Canyons, while Sunday will showcase three homes in Vista Las Palmas and include a cocktail reception at the final home. Other ticket options are $250 to include a “Sunset Soiree Cocktail Party” at Kennedy’s home Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., or a $495 weekend pass, which allows entry for all three events. Tickets can be purchased at the Palm Springs Animal Shelter website.
