Deputies at the Riverside County Southwest Sheriff's Station have arrested an Indio man in connection with multiple thefts from businesses in Temecula and San Bernardino counties.
After being identified by the Robbery/Burglary Suppression Team (RBST) as a suspect in numerous burglaries, Frederick Ware, 44, was located near the 81800 block of Avenida Del Mar in Indio on Friday, Jan. 27, Sgt. Josh Hephner said in a news release from Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Taken into custody without incident, Ware was charged with felony second-degree burglary, felony grand theft and misdemeanor petty theft, for which he has been booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
After Ware's arrest, while executing a search warrant at his home, authorities discovered clothing and additional items of evidentiary value linking him to multiple commercial burglaries, Hephner said.
In addition, he said, “It is believed Ware is responsible for additional thefts that have yet to be reported."
RBST's investigation goes back to early last month and the burglary at a business on the 40800 block of Winchester Road in Temecula as reported to Southwest Station deputies at 7:37 p.m. on Jan. 4. Witnesses at the business said a man had stolen over $2,000 worth of merchandise before fleeing in a white Chrysler 300 sedan, Hephner said. Through its investigation, RBST recognized that Ware was responsible for other thefts in the area, and he was positively identified.
According to inmate records, Ware was due to begin trial Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Murrieta Southwest Justice Center.
With the investigation still in progress and perhaps more victims yet to be found, anyone with information to assist in this case is encouraged to contact Deputy Alfonso Valadez of the Southwest Station RBST Team at 951-696-3000.
