The second "Glow in the Park" lantern event will be returning to The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens this month after last year's "dazzling debut", according to a press release by the City of Palm Desert.
Tickets are on sale now for the Palm Desert family event, which promises a "dazzling immersive experience" for all who attend, while showcasing creative, colorful and intricate lantern sculptures of animals and landscapes reflecting wild places on land and sea, the release said. Look for an all-new lineup of handcrafted lanterns during this year's extravaganza, the city said.
According to The Living Desert's website, visitors will find interactive elements and numerous opportunities for photos. In addition to the lantern display, The Living Desert said this year's Glow in the Park will feature new pathways exploring select areas of the zoo, including the African Safari and Rhino Savanna. While the lanterns are the highlight of these areas, guests may enjoy a glimpse of wildlife during their explorations.
The event is welcoming members first starting on March 15 and March 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. with no admission later than 9 p.m. Afterward, Glow in the Park will be open to the public each night from March 17 to April 30. Tickets are a must for entry, but children under 3 can get in free.
"We recommend purchasing tickets as far in advance as you can, as there is limited capacity and nights will sell out," The Living Desert said on its website. To buy tickets, call 760-346-5694, or visit online through this link.
