A new venue already reaping recognition, Acrisure Arena received a Rammy from Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce, naming it "Large Business of the Year".
“This award belongs to the entire Coachella Valley community and business leaders who have embraced this venue and brought it to life," John Bolton, senior vice president of the Oak View Group, said in a news release from Acrisure Arena. "We look forward to building upon this incredible grand opening run of events and being a good business partner.”
The honor came at The Rammy's Outstanding Business Awards ceremony on Wednesday, March 1, with Bolton accepting the award on behalf of the Palm Desert-based arena, the venue said in a news release.
According to the Chamber's website, The Rammy's is a celebration of the resiliency of local businesses.
"After two years, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to honor and thank this resilient business community and its leaders who have done a truly amazing job navigating the pandemic, closures, ordinances and too many unknowns to count," Chamber President and CEO Katie Stice said in a statement. "This community worked hard toward a safe, successful and sustainable future. No one gave up – instead everyone gave it their all. At The Rammy's, we look forward to giving credit where it is due by lifting up outstanding leadership, creativity and stick-to-itiveness.”
What stands out about this particular award is that Acrisure Arena held its grand opening just three months ago and since that time has opened its doors to approximately 250,000 fans and hosted over 31 concerts, comedy, family shows and Coachella Valley Firebirds games, according to the arena's press release.
Already establishing itself as a star-studded venue, Acrisure kicked off with a powerful Grand Opening season featuring Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle, The Doobie Brothers, Grupo Firme, Maroon 5 and the Eagles. And now, in the spirit established during its debut, the arena has lined up top performers for the year– most recently announcing legendary rock band KISS as part of the group's Farewell Tour, according to the release.
