The Riverside County Sheriff's Department invites the public to a Career Fair and Expedited Hiring Event on Saturday, March 11, at the Ben Clark Training Center in Riverside.
All area residents are welcome to attend the event, which will take place between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., with a variety of ways to learn about career prospects in law enforcement, according to a Riverside County Sheriff's Press Release.
For those contemplating a career with the sheriff's department, the career fair may pique your interests as it touches upon the variety of pursuits available. The career fair will feature displays, demonstrations and tours from different specialized teams, including the SWAT Team, K-9 unit, aviation, mounted enforcement detail and forensics. In addition, representatives of these specialized teams and divisions will be on-hand to describe what it may be like to follow in their career footsteps.
"This is a fantastic opportunity to bring the family out to tour our training facility, meet our department members and learn about the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office," Reporting Deputy Mark Masakayan said in the release.
For those already interested in a career with the sheriff's office and ready to get started, this is an expedited hiring event, which means that written exams and physical agility testing for deputy sheriff trainee and correctional deputy trainee will be administered right at the fair. A passing score in both areas of testing sends the applicant that very day on to the next step, which is the background check process.
Though walk-ins are welcome on a first-come-first-serve basis, there is also the opportunity to save time and preregister at Riverside County Sheriff Recruiting.
The Ben Clark Training Center, located at 16791 Davis Avenue in Riverside, will have vendors and food on-site to purchase as well.
