British synth-pop duo Tears for Fears will perform in August in Acrisure Arena and the time for fans to snatch up tickets is now, according to the group's social media.
A relatively new venue in Greater Palm Springs but already headlining icons like Madonna and KISS, Acrisure Arena wasn't initially part of the Tears for Fears North American 2023 tour, entitled The Tipping Point, like the band's 2022 album release. But the band announced additional dates for The Tipping Point Part II, and the Valley wasn't missing out, after all.
Fans will have the opportunity to catch the show on Tuesday, Aug. 1, but the time to act on tickets is this week, according to the Acrisure Arena website. Tickets will go on sale 10 a.m. on Friday, April 7, on Ticketmaster. In addition, there have been presale opportunities throughout the week, which are detailed on the website as well.
The band's Instagram announcement bounded with enthusiasm for a return to live performances after COVID-19 upheavals.
"We’re thrilled to be getting back on the road again – beginning with the US and Canada this Summer with @coldwarkids," the band posted, giving mention to their special guest Cold War Kids, slated to share the Greater Palm Springs stage.
According to Acrisure Arena, Tears for Fears has sold more than 30 million albums globally and is known for hit singles "Shout," "Everybody Wants To Rule The World," "Mad World," "Sowing Seeds Of Love" and "Woman In Chains." The band's 2022 album release, "The Tipping Point," has won the acclaim of critics, adding to the tour's popularity.
According to The Desert Sun, Tears for Fears already has a connection with the Coachella Valley, where Acrisure Arena is located. Locals may have recognized that the Valley was the chosen site for Tears for Fears to film the music video for its 1985 hit "Everybody Wants to Rule the World." Video footage featured shots of the Cabazon dinosaurs, a famed roadside attraction in California, the article said. Additionally, Tears for Fears made a surprise visit in 2019 during a set by Weezer, a Los Angeles band that also shows a tie-in with the Golden State, according to The Desert Sun.
