As it charts a course that will best serve the community over the next five years, the Cathedral City Fire Department is seeking feedback from those it serves at strategic planning workshops.

There will be at least two sessions to help shape the department's five-year strategic plan, and Cathedral City residents are encouraged to attend and share their views, according to Discover Cathedral City. The dates have been set for Saturday, May 20, and Monday, May 22. These sessions will be offered in both English and Spanish to allow all residents to get involved.

"We value the input of the community and want to make sure our strategic plan reflects the needs and priorities of residents throughout Cathedral City. We are excited to share our vision with the community and hear their valuable feedback," Fire Chief Michael Contreras said, according to Discover Cathedral City.

He stressed the importance of hearing what residents have to say as the department works to align its strategic plan with local needs and priorities in Cathedral City.

The workshops will be held at the Fire Administration headquarters, which can be found at 32100 Desert Vista Road.

Each day is designed to afford an opportunity for English- or Spanish-speaking residents to offer feedback. On May 20, the English workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by the Spanish workshop from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. On May 22, the Spanish workshop is offered from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and then the English session from 11 a.m. to noon.

The goal of this project is to make improvements in order to offer "the best possible services to residents" with guidance from those who rely on the Fire Department.
