In response to the aftermath of Tropical Storm Hilary, the Palm Springs Air Museum (PSAM) has lacunced an Indiegogo campaign to support the recovery efforts of Cathedral City residents. Those contributing $200 or more through the Indiegogo platform will be eligible for a complimentary ride on the museum's C-47 Skytrain, with a restriction of one offer per individual according to a press release.
According to Palm Springs Air Museum's website, the ride is not redeemable for cash and it cannot be combined with any other discounts or special offers. Strict adherence to ride standards is required, and the offer is only redeemable for one ride per individual during the first year from the date on which the gift was received. Following a donation, the Air Museum will, as stated in a press release, get in touch with the benefactor in order to make arrangements for their journey.
"During these difficult times, our hearts extend to all in our community who've felt the impact of the recent storm," Fred Bell, Vice Chairman of the Palm Springs Air Museum, said in a news statement.
As the community of Palm Springs works to heal from recent tragedies, the Palm Springs Air Museum hopes to serve as a symbol of the city's resilience and unity during this time. We are offering complimentary rides, each with a value of $125, to anyone who makes a gift on our Indiegogo page to aid individuals who have been impacted by the flooding produced by Tropical Storm Hilary. In order to be of assistance to the community, we hope to raise a total of $20,000. The funds will be contributed to relief efforts for people who have been impacted by the disaster. The deadline for donations is Oct. 21, according to a statement by Bell.
After developing off the coast of western Mexico, Hurricane Hilary took a northern turn and headed toward Southern California. Within twenty-four hours, the storm intensified, with maximum sustained winds increasing by at least thirty knots (thirty-five miles per hour). By Friday, the hurricane had reached the most powerful category, known as Category 4. Tropical Storm Hilary brought significant rainfall and high gusts to Baja California and Southern California, according to Climate.gov. This extreme weather event occurred despite the fact that these regions are not accustomed to experiencing tropical precipitation, especially during the dry season.
