Palm Springs is encouraging local businesses to attend an Open House event to learn about opportunities working with the city. The event, scheduled for Wednesday, October 18, will provide local businesses with the chance to network with department leadership and gain insight into the various types of goods and services procured by multiple city departments.

Palm Springs City Manager Scott Stiles expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "This is a fantastic way to meet department leadership and learn about our purchasing needs in Palm Springs. I encourage anyone interested in doing business with Palm Springs to join us and learn more about the needs of our ever-changing, growing city."

The Open House event, hosted by the City of Palm Springs Procurement Department, extends an open invitation to all local businesses within Palm Springs and the wider Coachella Valley region. It will take place at the Palm Springs City Hall Council Chamber and will begin at 10:00 a.m.

City departments such as Police, Fire, Public Works, Engineering, Facilities, Parks and Recreation, and Palm Springs International Airport, among others, will be present at the event. These departments play crucial roles in serving the residents and visitors of Palm Springs. The range of services frequently sought after by the City includes landscaping, plumbing, electrical work, street paving, printing, and communication materials, among many others.

Kim Baker, Procurement and Contracting Director, emphasized the City's commitment to supporting local businesses. "The City is committed to helping local business learn how to do business with the City to keep our dollars in the local economy," Baker said. "Please join us to learn how you can do business with the City at our Open House event where you can learn the process, what types of goods and services we buy and meet the City Department personnel that source these items."

Attending the event does not require an RSVP. Local businesses are simply encouraged to show up and meet the decision-makers who buy the goods. Any questions regarding the event can be sent via email to procurementcontracting@palmspringsca.gov.

This Open House event presents a unique opportunity for local businesses to gain valuable information and potentially collaborate with the City of Palm Springs in fulfilling its diverse needs. By attending, businesses can learn about the procurement process, the types of goods and services the City buys, and establish connections with key personnel within various city departments.
