Last week, Acadia Healthcare Company, Inc. celebrated the grand opening of its Coachella Valley Behavioral Health hospital in Indio with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The hospital is expected to admit its first patients upon finalizing the necessary preparations.
In a press release issued by Acadia Healthcare, it was revealed that the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the 80-bed hospital took place on December 14. The facility is set to provide inpatient and intensive outpatient behavioral healthcare services for adults, seniors, and adolescents. These services encompass comprehensive treatment for patients grappling with acute symptoms of general mood disorders, thought disorders, and dual diagnosis/substance use disorders.
The same press release also highlighted that Coachella Valley Behavioral Health is one of the only freestanding behavioral health hospitals in the region. Scott Hullinger, CEO of Coachella Valley Behavioral Health, said that Riverside County has faced a shortage of approximately 1,200 behavioral health beds. "This new hospital addresses a critical need for access to behavioral health services that has rippled across our region and state," stated Hullinger.
Chris Hunter, CEO of Acadia Healthcare, expressed his gratitude towards local officials who supported the new hospital in the same press release. "Aligned to our purpose to 'Lead Care with Light,' Acadia will continue to expand access to behavioral health treatment programs in more communities in California and across the country with critical need," said Hunter.
According to the press release from Acadia Healthcare, the company provides behavioral healthcare services nationwide. As of last fall, it operated 253 behavioral healthcare facilities with approximately 11,100 beds spread across 39 states and Puerto Rico.
