The Coachella Animal Network (CAN) has announced plans to conduct a low-cost dog and cat clinic this month in Indio. The clinic will provide services such as spaying, neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping.

As per a post on the City of Indio's Facebook page, the clinic is scheduled for February 16 and 17 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. It will be held at the ABC Recovery Center located at 44359 Palm St. in Indio.

The same Facebook post revealed that the cost for spaying and neutering both cats and dogs is a $25 donation. Appointments, which are mandatory for spaying and neutering procedures, can be booked by calling 760-848-4284 or online via coachellaanimalnetwork.org.

According to the post, vaccinations for cats include rabies, RCP, RCPC, RCPC with Leukemia, with costs ranging from $5 to $25. For dogs, the clinic offers rabies, DA2PP, DA2PP+CV and Bordetella vaccines with costs varying between $11 and $16.

In addition to these services, pet licensing will also be available as stated in the Facebook post. Pet owners are advised to bring cash or credit cards; owner’s identification; and details on their pet’s rabies vaccine, sterilization status and microchip information.

CAN's website states that it was established to tackle pet abandonment issues in the Coachella Valley while promoting responsible pet ownership. In collaboration with Traveling Paws, CAN offers Trap-Neuter-Return (T.N.R) programs aimed at reducing the area’s feral cat population. CAN's mission extends to transitioning Coachella Valley into a no-kill zone through its efforts. As a nonprofit organization that relies solely on donations, CAN has successfully sterilized over 18,000 dogs and cats through its programs.
